Bethpage Black

Course Tour

Located in Farmingdale, N.Y., Bethpage State Park is home to five 18-hole public golf courses, including the world-renowned Black Course.

Opened for play in 1936, Bethpage Black was designed by legendary architect A.W. Tillinghast, with more recent work led by Rees Jones. The Black has been a regular member on Golf Digest’s roster of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses and GOLF Magazine named it one of the top 100 courses in the world. No stranger to big events, Bethpage Black previously hosted the 2002 and 2009 U.S. Opens. In May of 2019 it will play host to the PGA Championship for the very first time, before taking main stage again in 2024 for the Ryder Cup.
